Custom API integration services

Custom API integration.
Unblock what’s next.

When a customer connection or system rollout is held up, you need a clear view of the work left to do. Our Belfast team builds custom API integrations between the applications your business relies on.

Tell us which systems are involved and what is holding you up. You do not need a finished specification.

When to bring us in

Where is the integration holding you up?

Perhaps a customer cannot go live, staff are copying records between systems, or the existing connector misses a business rule. Tell us what is happening.

01 / DELIVERY BLOCKED

The customer is ready.
The integration is not.

A customer is waiting to connect to your platform, but the integration is unfinished. You need to know what remains, what access is missing and who can finish the work.

02 / OPERATIONS EXPOSED

The systems connect.
The data does not agree.

Records arrive late, values disagree or someone checks every transfer by hand. We look at where the mismatch starts and what should happen when a transfer fails.

03 / CONNECTOR LIMITS

The standard connector
does not fit the job.

The connector covers the standard fields, but not your approval rules, older application or customer requirements. Those gaps are worth investigating before you replace a system.

How we start

Agree what needs to work
before the build starts.

Send us the two systems and a short description of the problem. We review the enquiry, ask for any missing context and arrange a conversation where the work looks like a fit.

  1. 01

    Check the interfaces and access

We establish what each system permits, who controls access and which data needs to move. Existing documentation and safe test access help identify the unknowns.

  2. 02

Agree the first piece of work

Decide what must work first, how it will be tested and what needs more investigation. Scope, engineering capacity and fees are agreed before paid work starts.

  3. 03

Test it, document it and hand it over

Include failed transfers, duplicate records and changes to either system in the test plan. Agree who owns the code and accounts, and who will support the connection after launch.

An initial conversation is not a full technical audit. Repository access, detailed investigation and implementation are scoped separately.

Published project examples

See how we have connected
existing products and data.

These projects involved device protocols, mobile applications and shared data platforms. They show the kind of engineering behind our integration work.

McFarland Consulting / connected data

Different sensor protocols.
One usable data platform.

Galvia connected monitoring devices, normalised their readings and delivered the data through a shared cloud platform. The published case describes reduced site visits and faster access to monitoring information.

Stimare / product integration

Make the hardware easier
to build into an app.

Galvia developed a shared mobile SDK, demonstration app and supporting documentation to simplify barcode-scanner integration across Android and iOS.

The people behind the work

Galvia is a Belfast software development team. We work alongside your engineers, explain the trade-offs and document what we build so your team can use it.

You can get to know the team and how we approach a project before sharing your brief.

How Martin approaches a project

What the work can involve

API integration services
for the systems you already use.

An API gives one application a defined way to exchange data with another. Custom integration adds the mapping, business rules and error handling needed when a ready-made connector does not cover the job.

Customer and partner connections

Connect your product or service to a customer’s platform. Define the records, permissions and acceptance tests so both teams know what a working integration looks like.

CRM and operational data

Move customer, order or operational records between a CRM and the applications your teams use. We check the available APIs, data ownership and business rules before recommending an approach. Where the source data also needs attention, see our data engineering work.

Legacy application interfaces

Extend an existing application through an API or another supported interface. When no documented API exists, we investigate the permitted options before committing to a connection. Our offline field-app project shows how a new application can work with an existing database.

Unreliable or unfinished integrations

Review the code, logs and documentation available for an existing integration. Establish what is failing, what can be retained and what the next release needs to fix.

Not every connection needs custom software. Where an existing connector or managed integration tool meets the requirements, that should be considered before committing to a bespoke build. Our API integration project brief helps you compare those requirements.

API Integration Project Brief

Brief the integration

Before you enquire

The practical
questions.

When is a custom integration worth building?

When a standard connector cannot handle the required data, approval rules or operational controls. We compare the available routes first. A custom build should address a defined gap, not duplicate something your existing tools already do.

Do you build a new API or connect to an existing one?

Those are different pieces of work. Integration usually connects interfaces that already exist. API development creates or extends an interface. If your project needs both, we identify that during scoping and agree them explicitly.

Can you work with our existing developers or supplier?

Galvia can work alongside an existing team. We first clarify access, responsibilities and who owns the systems. Taking over an existing integration needs a review of the available code, documentation and permissions. Read about our software development and team support.

How much does a custom API integration cost?

Cost depends on the systems, available interfaces, business rules, data quality, testing and operational requirements. An initial conversation helps establish whether the next step is scoping or implementation. We agree the scope, engineering capacity and fees with you before work starts.

Can you meet our deadline?

Share the date and what must be working by then. We check scope, access, unknowns and team availability before agreeing a delivery commitment.

What if one of our systems has no API?

There may be a supported file exchange, database interface or other route, but permissions, vendor terms and the application architecture need checking. Sometimes changing the process or platform is safer than forcing a fragile connection. Our ASM desktop-to-browser project shows a different route when the application itself needs to change.

Who owns the integration and maintains it?

Ownership, access, documentation and support responsibilities should be explicit in the agreement. We plan handover as part of the work. Ongoing maintenance, monitoring and response times are agreed separately.

Tell us what needs to connect

Which systems need
to work together?

Tell us what needs to connect, what is not working and any date you are working towards. We review each enquiry before arranging a call.

  • A person reviews the project before a call is arranged.
  • No API keys, passwords or customer records in the form.
  • No work or fees are agreed by submitting this form.

Commercial conversations are led by Martin Naughton, Galvia’s founder and solution architect. Meet Martin.
